With current operations in 29 countries including Kenya and more than $170 million in funding for public health over the past five years CHF International has a proven track record in building local capacity to address the key challenges in health and provide needed services.

Our mission is to be a catalyst for long-lasting positive change in low- and moderate-income communities around the world, helping them improve their social, economic and environmental conditions. Our approach to health programming focuses on building local capacity for a viable, sustained response.

Since 2004, CHF has been working with the US Government and the Government of Kenya to strengthen the capacity of government and local organizations to provide comprehensive HIV prevention, care and treatment services. CHF recently assisted over 40 local institutions across all eight provinces to build their operational and technical capacity in 10 PEPFAR program areas including blood safety to help improve HIV service delivery.

CHF International, in partnership with the Africa Society for Blood Transfusion Kenya (AfSBTK) launched the Technical Assistance for the Implementation and Expansion of Blood Safety Activities in Kenya program on 27th October 2010. This initiative, funded by the U.S. Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC), aims to strengthen the national blood transfusion system to ensure safe and sufficient blood supply in Kenya.
